My rental car was a base model Kia, an Optima FE. And you know what? It was great!

Kias and Hyundais are my go-to rental cars when I can get them.

I get an Optima Turbo Next week! Should I be more excited than I am?

You get to drive lots of nice cars, I would call this a
Korean B
uick lesabre
. For me all a car need is to be comfortable and quiet and cruise well at 75 mph, and the Optima did that really well, like I would not think twice driving it 3,000 miles.

I get these as loaners. Even in basic trim, they don’t feel like a punishment (like an Altima would, for example). T hey have plenty of pep, feel comfortable, and materials aren’t bad.

I had one of those as a rental a few months ago. I really liked it. Android auto is basically my only requirement in a rental so o Washington happy with the Kia. Mine also had lane keep assistance which I thot was cool to have in a base model.

You take that back.
Mostly because you completely fail to understand Buick models. The Optima is nearer to Verano (RIP in peace) than to the old LaCrosse (NOT THE LESABRE YOU HEATHEN ,) which was
Thus, the lineup is something like this:
Rio
= Century. Yes, really.
Forte
= Verano
Optima
= Regal
Cadenza = LaCrosse
We do not recognize the Cascada because that thing is an irredemable pile of shit that didn’t have to be so.

While GM was dumping their worst into rental fleets, Kia and Hyundai were putting their best stuff out there. Such a different attitude toward fleet sales: dumping ground vs customer acquisition.

I’m thinking mid 90’s le Sabre not a post 2000’s model.

The number of nissans in rental fleets is alarming.

You don’t know the meaning of base kia until you have a 6 speed, no AC and no remote key fob

Still holds, since the early 90's is when they set up that tiering.
Though then K900 = Riviera.

Wallow in you misery. The interior of this optima was 100% plastic. I can’t imagine how terrible your forte is.

At least I’m giving it an interesting life. We went off- roading today.

Gib, gib now.
That being said I may consider a 4cy stinger now... it’s just a rwd car isn’t the best in snow county.

I have to chime in. I owned the last gen Riviera and now own a K900. The Riviera doesn’t hold a candle to the K900, even adjusting for what was an acceptable standard in the 90s. That’s 90s Buick for ya.

They may take my Oppo membership card, but RWD really isn’t as good in weather. That said, I know all the northerner tricks, like putting bags of rock salt or horse feed in the trunk along with using snow tires . It wouldn’t put me off, and I know your snow driving skills have to be as good.
